Aviation Student Injured in Plane Crash at Nairobi National Park

On Thursday, a trainee pilot from the West Rift Aviation School sustained injuries after a training aircraft crashed inside Nairobi National Park. The aircraft, which had two people on board, went down under unclear circumstances, leaving one student injured. A swift response from rescue teams saw those trapped in the wreckage safely pulled out.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway, led by the Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID) and the National Police Service. The injured student was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Eyewitnesses shared images of the crash site on social media, showing the small plane overturned in the park's tall grass. Although the cause of the crash remains undetermined, the KCAA assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted.

This accident echoes a similar tragedy earlier this year when a student pilot and instructor lost their lives after their aircraft collided with a passenger plane carrying 44 people. The collision, which took place in Nairobi Airspace, also resulted in the student pilot's aircraft crash-landing within Nairobi National Park.

Authorities continue to investigate these incidents, emphasizing the need for enhanced safety measures in Kenya's airspace.
