Drug Dealers Auma and Omar in Custody.
It’s been a busy day for the Anti-Narcotics Unit in Mombasa and DCI Diani as they nabbed two infamous drug peddlers in Diani’s Chief area, recovering Marijuana worth a whopping Sh9 million!
Thanks to a hot tip from locals, the squad first cornered Hamisi Omar, who spilled the beans on a hidden stash nearby. The officers hit the jackpot, finding 10 hefty sacks of Marijuana weighing over 314kgs, valued at Sh9,421,500. The bust didn’t stop there — they soon tracked down Irene Auma, a 30-year-old suspected drug kingpin, hiding out in a nearby house.
Meanwhile, in another bust over at Luore shopping center in Rusinga West, officers raided a suspected drug hideout and seized bhang worth Sh1,749,000 plus 30 jerry cans of Chang’aa estimated at Sh240,000. Unfortunately, their main target, Kevin Barasa, also known as Kevo, managed to flee just in time.
Both Auma and Omar are cooling their heels in police custody as the hunt for Kevo continues. The police have commended the public for their help in the fight against drug trafficking and promise to keep up the heat on these illegal operations.
